BeamMP (BeamNG.drive) server hosting

BeamMP is multiplayer for BeamNG.drive: crashes, races and convoys with friends on the stock maps or your own. A dedicated server stays up for the group with the mods already loaded, so nobody has to host from their own PC.

This is the whole of it. No files to edit, nothing to install on your own computer.

  1. Pick BeamMP (BeamNG.drive)

Press New server, find BeamMP (BeamNG.drive) among the games, and you're on step two. Everything about it can be changed later.

The game picker: a grid of games with their art
  2. Give it a name

The name your friends will see, the name in the game and a join password. The page tells you what it costs before you press anything. Then Create server.

The name step: server name, name in the game, join password, the price in plain words
  3. It installs itself

The server downloads BeamMP (BeamNG.drive) and starts on its own: a few minutes the first time, seconds after that. You can watch it on the server's page, or come back when it's done.

The server page while the game installs, with the progress bar
  4. Send your friends the address

The server page shows the address and the password, with a Copy button and a ready-made invite. Start BeamNG.drive through the BeamMP launcher (free, beammp.com), then Direct connect with the address on the server page. There is no join password: a Private server is only reachable by its address, so share it with your friends only.

The server page once it's on: the address to join with and the password, ready to copy

When everyone's gone, the server goes to sleep by itself and switches off a little later. This one wakes the moment a friend joins; nobody has to press Start.

ToastHosting is for groups of 2 to 8 that play on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, and for groups that play BeamMP (BeamNG.drive) this weekend and something else the next: put it away, start another, pay for what you played. Your world, your settings, your mods

11 of BeamMP (BeamNG.drive)'s settings, each explained in a sentence, on the server's Settings page: change one, save, and the server restarts with it. The files behind them are a click away if you want them.

Mods

Mod zips from the BeamNG.drive repository, uploaded whole under Files; players download them from the server when they join.

Your world is yours

There's no world file in this game: your settings and mod files are in every backup, a click away. Putting the server away keeps them; only the game's own files are re-downloaded when you start again.

A backup every night and before every update. For three days after an update you can press Put it back and the world, the settings and the mods return the way they were.

Questions about BeamMP (BeamNG.drive) here

How many people can play on a BeamMP (BeamNG.drive) server here?

Groups of 2 to 8 are the usual size; the game's own limit applies. Every server gets 2 cores and 4 GB to itself, and you can switch more memory on if a big group needs it.

Do my friends need an account?

No. They join the game with the server's address, like any other server. An account is only for the person who runs it.

What happens when nobody is playing?

The server goes to sleep after a few minutes and switches off a little later, so you stop paying by the hour. Most games wake it when a friend joins. Off or asleep, your world stays exactly as it was.

Can I download my world?

This game keeps no world file. Your settings and mod files are in every backup, a click away on the server's page.

How do I get in?

Create an account on the sign-in page with your email address and confirm it from the mail you get. The first hour of a new account is free.
