One account, any game

Valheim this weekend. Something else the next.

A monthly game server is one game, for a month, paid for whether anyone plays or not. Here a server is something you start when the group wants it and put away when it's over. Play Valheim this weekend, put it away on Sunday, start Abiotic Factor on Friday. You're never locked into one game, and you only ever pay for the hours you played.

How a month of switching looks

  1. Weekend one: Valheim

Make a server on Friday, play through the weekend, put it away on Sunday night. The world is kept; the hours stop.

  2. Weekend two: Abiotic Factor

A new server, a new game, the same account and the same credits. Nothing to cancel, nothing to transfer.

  3. Weekend three: back to Valheim

Start the old server again. It downloads the game, picks up your world exactly where you left it, and your friends join with the same address.

  4. Weekend four: nobody's around

Nothing runs, nothing is charged. A put-away server costs nothing a day.

That month: thirty hours of play and nine days kept ready, 357 credits, about $14.88. Two games at a monthly host would be two servers, about $45.00.

What makes that possible

It sleeps when you do

Five quiet minutes and the server goes to sleep; half an hour and it switches off. Most games wake it the moment a friend joins, so nobody has to press Start.

Put away is free

A server you've put away keeps its world, settings and mods and costs nothing. The next start downloads the game again, usually in minutes.

One wallet, every game

Credits aren't tied to a server or a game. Spend them on whichever one the group wants this week.

Your own machine each time

Every server gets 2 cores and 4 GB of its own, more memory at the flick of a switch; 28 games to pick from, each installing itself.

Pick this weekend's game

The honest line: if your group plays the same game every evening, a flat monthly server for that one game is cheaper, and we'll tell you so: the sums, by the hour or by the month →
